Gay Parenting

So, you are ready to open your heart to a baby and start a family. Congratulations! Now, how can we make it happen? With surrogacy for gay parents from GSHC Surrogacy Agency, we can turn that dream into reality.

At GSHC, we are honored to provide same sex couples with surrogacy services. We are a boutique agency, which means you will get individualized attention to inform, educate and support you every step of the way. We look forward to helping you along the exciting journey to parenthood.

There are many benefits of partnering with GSHC Surrogacy Agency, including:

  • The ability to have a biological child through gestational surrogacy.
  • Access to IVF partner referrals for embryonic genetic testing, which allows you to select the highest-quality embryos and even the gender of your baby.
  • Thorough screening of gestational surrogates. Your candidate will be physically, emotionally and financially capable of helping you become a parent. Additionally, we choose women who are residents of surrogacy-friendly states to ensure that the process goes smoothly.
  • Access to legal referrals in various states to ensure that you and your partner can obtain full legal parentage of your child.

6 Basic Steps of Surrogacy

We realize that if you are gay or lesbian, surrogacy is one of the few ways to have a child. It may feel scary or overwhelming to have so little control over this important life event. We understand, and we’re here to walk the journey with you, offering guidance, support and hope on the path to parenthood.

The gay surrogacy process may take anywhere from 12-20 months. To give you an idea of the key steps, here are the basics:

  1. Schedule a consultation. During this meeting, you’ll learn more about LGBTQ surrogacy and what to expect when you work with us. We can meet virtually or in person at our Los Angeles office. Our staff speaks English, Chinese, Spanish and other languages.
  2. Determine your needs. For same-sex couples seeking an egg donor, we offer top-tier services to help you review detailed profiles and make the right donor selection for you. We will connect you with reputable clinics to create your embryos while we simultaneously work to match you with a surrogate who will be ready to transfer as soon as possible.
  3. Create a profile. You’ll complete a brief profile, so we can get to know you and establish expectations for a surrogate. This will help us match you with the appropriate candidate.
  4. Meet your surrogate. After you choose a potential surrogate, you will have a “Match Meeting” via video conference or in-person, depending on her location.
  5. Sign the agreement. Once you and your surrogate are ready, you will sign our agency agreement and return it with a small deposit.
  6. Prepare for pregnancy. Once your surrogate has passed her medical screening and the contract is finalized, a transfer cycle will be created to determine the medications she’ll take. We monitor her throughout the process to confirm that she’s responding well before the embryo transfer. If she becomes pregnant, she’ll continue to be evaluated by the fertility center during the first trimester.
  7. Prepare to meet your baby! Over the course of the pregnancy, we will support and assist you if you have any questions or concerns. Before the baby’s delivery, we’ll help make travel arrangements so you can be present at the birth. You will also receive a Pre-Birth Order, which confirms that you are the legal parent/s of the baby. Finally, we can help you apply for any necessary documents required for traveling home with your newborn.
